In future, all FISAT-certified high-altitude workers will receive a forgery proof ID in credit-card format whose validity is dependent upon the holder’s completion of an annual refresher course. This measure minimizes risk of accident for users and provides employers and/or contractors with the assurance of having fulfilled legal requirements. Anyone carrying a FISAT ID always works according to the most up-to-date safety standards worldwide for this access technique.
With this new certificate ID, FISAT is reacting to the requirements of an expanding market. With the number of high-altitude workers used around the globe increasing, their competence plays an ever greater role. A FISAT certification means safety on the highest level, for users and project managers.
The 5th open German championship in rope access, following thrilling competition, concluded with a narrow victory by the Hungarian Ligeti Márton. Of the 23 competitors from Germany, Hungary, Norway, Poland, and Lithuania, Ligeti Márton achieved victory with 782 total points. Last year’s winner Michael Rafikov from Russia reached second place, his countryman Evgeniy Venskyi third place.
The best German, with a result of 751 points, and thus German champion was Knut Foppe, one of FISAT’s most experienced certifiers. The Berliner reached 5th place in the total ranking.
The contestants had to compete on three different rope stations, with determining factors being both speed in rope ascent and descent as well as skillfulness.

Training according to our guidelines and the examination of users of rope-assisted access and positioning techniques by our invigilators is recognized and esteemed worldwide. Since 1997, we have certified more than 3,000 rope access technicians.
Our member firms operate in Europe, Asia, and North America. Put in your request today for a FISAT certification of your employees!
FISAT safety standards are among the highest worldwide.
The agencies responsible in each individual country recognize these standards in full. Rope access technicians need no additional or further certification for any EU country. Contradictory claims making the rounds, especially concerning England, have no legal basis. In England, as in all other EU member countries, the EU guideline 2001/45 EG applies. It simply requires the employment of sufficiently competent personnel.
